Bryan Lee O’Malley is a cartoonist from Canada. He created the 6-volume graphic novel series SCOTT PILGRIM, which was adapted into a film and videogame in 2010.

He records music under the name KUPEK.

He currently lives in Los Angeles.

I’m not currently looking for interviews, signings or convention appearances.

Q. What are you going to do now that Scott Pilgrim is finished?
A. I’m going to do new comics. Right now I’m working on a stand-alone graphic novel called “Seconds” (to be released in 2013).

Q. What about Scott?!?
A. It’s hugely flattering that so many fans would like to see more S.P. adventures, but in this next book I’m going to explore new characters. (That doesn’t mean I’ll never return to the S.P. universe, just that there won’t be a “Scott Volume 7″ at this time.)

Q. How do I make comics like you?

Ode to Hope Larson

I forgot to mention in the last post that on Saturday Hope won the Ignatz award for most promising talent!!! It’s very deserved. A year ago, Salamander Dream was hot off the presses and she was just finishing up the art for Gray Horses. Now she’s got both books out, a big contract with Simon & Schuster, and is publishing Rebecca Kraatz’s wonderful House of Sugar, not to mention having several panels of her comics featured in Scott McCloud’s Making Comics. All this and it’s only been three years since she decided to try doing some comics in the summer of 2003. That’s what I call promising! Please heap praise upon her.
